drill┼mallo's Gyagarpa EP is a beautifully textured, scenic soundscape that transports the listener to the ancient mountains of Ladakh. It was conceived and has been created using a bard and a guitar gorgeously fused with all the sounds sampled live during their travels in Ladakh and the Markha Valley.

"We started using samples to give our tracks the unmistakeable vibe of places that have had an impact on our sensibilities and our musical aesthetic. We had already done one sampling trip in the mountains of Ladakh, and drill’s trek through the Markha valley (with upgraded equipment) yielded even better results.

The “Gyagarpa” EP was born in a single session in our home studio, with both of us locked into our headphones. Drill was armed with samples, nuts and batteries, and mallo with acoustic strings and a capo (#nofilters).

We didn’t hear the track immediately after recording it, and when we finally did, after a wild night of 200 BMP experimental psy-trance, it was benedictory for our ears.

The tracks you hear are our session reproduced faithfully, with mild EQ and cuts."
